LifeWay Community Church
In 1997 Dr. Frank Harvey and New Covenant Church of Clyde sent out Brian & Shawn Cagle with several other families to begin a new church work in Jackson County, North Carolina. That July, LifeWay Community Church celebrated its first service in a renovated hardware store in the heart of downtown Sylva. The goal was to impact our world with the message of Christ through contemporary worship, relevant teaching, meaningful relationships and by putting our faith into action.
In 2003 Brian left to establish The Worship Connection, equipping ministers and ministries in the area of worship. His passion for the presence of God left a lasting legacy in our hearts and lives. Mike & Sonya Abbott have continued to build upon that foundation. Their contagious love for God and people has created a culture where church isn't something you do, it's something you are. That has brought together a diverse group of people committed to the cause of Christ.
In 2007 we sent out Scott & Dianna Woodard to establish NewLife Community Church in Clayton, Georgia. In 2013, NewLife officially became Lifeway-Clayton as part of our vision of "One Church. Multiple Locations." Lifeway-Clayton is the first of what we believe will be many more campuses in Western North Carolina and North Georgia. We are affiliated with Covenant Life Ministries and Evangel Fellowship International and continue to partner with other like hearted ministers and ministries locally, regionally and internationally.
